Calculate your Latitude and Longitude for your location and then use these calculations to look up your dish settings and what is due South for your location.

Mount you pole level and then attach the Motor to the pole and your dish to the Motor.

The pole needs to be mounted PLUMB and needs to be sturdy. If the pole is not level, you will NOT be able to track the arc. This is a very important part of the installation of a motorized system. Set your dish elevation angle to the setting for aiming Due South.

Then using the manual that came with the motor, use your Latitude to calculate your Motor Bracket Elevation angle and set it.

Using a compass, now aim your dish and motor assembly as close to due south as possible. Keeping in mind that if you are close to anything metal, it can give you a false reading on the compass, so you need to be away from anything that might pull the compass off of the correct reading. You also need to keep in mind the Magnetic Deviation that the polar axis of the earth will cause for you area. Depending on where you are located, you will need to either add or subtract a certain number of degrees to the compass reading to compensate for this.

After you think you have your dish aimed at True Due South, look to see what satellite is closest to Due South in your location.

For this example, I will say that Due South is at 92.8 degrees W and Telstar (Intelesat Americas) 6 is located at 93 degrees W. The Latitude is 38.4 N and the Longitude is 92.8 W. Now go to the Menu of the Pansat receiver. Then Installation and Antenna Setup. Cursor through the list until you find the satellite closest for due south for your location and I am using T-6/Ku for this example. Hit OK to T-6/Ku. Set the LNB type to match your LNBF.

The ASC321 DMSI is Standard / 10750 and the SNH031 Invacom is Universal 1 / 9750/10600. Next, verify the number selected on the TP line are current active frequencies by checking with http://www.lyngsat.com/america.html as this is what the receiver will be using to find a signal.

Once you have selected an active channel setting of Frequency, Polarity & Symbol Rate, cursor down to the Positioner Setting Line and right arrow and set this to USALS, Universal Satellite Automatic Locating System and hit OK.

Cursor down to the My Longitude line and enter the settings for your area.

After you input the numbers, you can use the right or left arrow to change the setting for N to S or E to W. Next input the Latitude settings. Now cursor down to Move and hit OK. The receiver will now move the dish to the correct location for the selected satellite. If you have your dish aimed in corrected at due south, the dish will land on the satellite. If you do not get Level and Quality numbers on the signal scales on the lower right of the screen, then you will need to adjust your dish and motor on the pole by rotating the complete assembly either East or West until you get Signal. You may also have to adjust you dish elevation angle. Adjust the Motor/Dish assembly and elevation to get the highest possible signal and then tighten down your adjument bolts and nuts and the cursor down to Store and hit OK and Store the position in the memory of the Receiver.

Then hit EXIT and return to the Antenna Setup screen and cursor to the line that says Satellite Scan and Hit OK. The receiver will scan in the channels of that satellite. When it is done scanning, you can exit out of the Menu completely and view the new channels.

Now you will be ready to do another satellite.

Go back into the Installation Menu and select another satellite and set up the LNB settings to match your LNBF and the go to Positioner Setting and set it to USALS and hit OK. Cursor down to the Move Line and Hit OK. The dish will now move to the Location of the satellite you selected. You may need to make small East or West adjustments to the Dish/Motor assembly on the Pole to get you Level and Quality. Make the needed adjustments and then cursor down to Store and hit OK. The position will be stored into the memory of the receiver. Now EXIT to the previous Menu and highlight Satellite Scan and hit OK. The receiver will now scan in the channels on this satellite. When done scanning, EXIT out of the menu and view the new channels.

Now try calling up a channel from the first satellite and make for sure that the adjustments you may have made did not effect the first programmed satellite. Continue this same procedure for the other satellites in the arc. The channels on Telstar 5 have already been scanned into the receiver. The Global Star Radio channels have been programmed into the receiver as well and are Channels 1 & 2 in the Radio Channel List.

There are 2 Radio Channels on Channel 1.

To switch between the 2 different channels you will need to HIT the AUDIO button on the remote control.

This button is in the middle of the remote and has a small speaker icon on it with a ? mark.

When you HIT the Audio button, a small box will pop up on the screen and say, 'AUDIO - Language, L & R. Now use the Right or Left Arrow to switch this to just L or just R.

If you have them both selected at the same time, you will hear both channels at the same time.
